How I know the Couple: I met Audra in a Christian Dance Company our freshman year at Texas A&M. (We later both quit this- cult vibes). We started teaching dance together at Expressions in college station and I got to hang out with Conner more and more. These two were made for each other.

In the midst of a challenging time, Audra and Connor proved that love knows no boundaries. When their dream wedding was disrupted by the pandemic, they decided to wait a year and celebrate with an “Anniversary Reception” instead. As their coordinator, I had the honor of helping them bring their vision to life at the Villa at Gruene in Greune, Texas.

The day started with warmth and anticipation as we gathered at a cozy coffee shop in Gruene. Laughter filled the air as the wedding party shared this special moment before heading to the venue. Together, we set up the reception hall, meticulously arranging centerpieces, linens, and crafting handmade signage that added a personal touch.

As the bridal suite buzzed with excitement, the girls enjoyed mimosas while getting ready, while I checked in with the groom and his crew. A delicious lunch from Chick-fil-A arrived just in time to fuel us for the busy day ahead. I caught up with the talented photographer, ensuring our efforts were aligned.

When the ladies emerged, we gathered for a run-through of the ceremony, making sure every step was perfect. Vendors started arriving, and I guided them to their designated places, diligently ticking off items from our setup list. Meanwhile, the photographer captured stunning portraits of the bridal party, while I prepared Audra for her emotional first look with Connor.

We seized every moment before the ceremony, capturing their love on camera. Then, with the wedding party lined up, the magical ceremony began, celebrating the profound love shared by Audra and Connor.

After the ceremony, we smoothly facilitated the family photos, thanks to Audra’s detailed list. However, a small hiccup occurred—the caterer was in a car accident and would be delayed. Thinking on my feet, I organized additional photo opportunities for the couple while coordinating the retrieval of the food. The guests remained blissfully unaware, and the celebration continued flawlessly.

As the evening unfolded, I collaborated with the DJ to ensure the couple’s preferred music set the mood. First dances, heartfelt speeches, and lively two-stepping followed, as guests reveled in the joyous atmosphere. The night passed in a whirlwind of dancing, celebration, and mouthwatering desserts. Finally, we bid farewell to the evening with the iconic Aggie War Hymn and a heartwarming send-off.

Reflecting on Audra and Connor’s special day, I feel incredibly grateful to have been a part of my best friend’s wedding. Their love and resilience truly shone through, proving that even in challenging times, a celebration of love can create unforgettable memories. Here’s to Audra and Connor—a couple who turned adversity into an opportunity for an extraordinary celebration of their love.
