Eddidiong Daniel Wedding Pointe Performance
10.08.2022
How I know the couple: Eddidiong and I went to Plano East Senior High School together and have a lot of mutual friends. I also went to church with her Aunt!
This was an absolute dream project for me! Eddidiong envisioned a spectacular Nigerian wedding and approached me to create a captivating first dance that would leave everyone in awe. With excitement, I took on the role of choreographer, assembling a group of incredibly talented pointe dancers to dance around the couple.
To bring my vision to life, I carefully selected three exceptional dancers from Red Door Dance Academy and set the piece on them through dedicated rehearsals. To add an extra touch of elegance, I sourced exquisite swan lake costumes from Olga, which elevated the performance to a whole new level.
On the big day, I drove the dancers to the venue and ensured they were warmed up and ready to go while we eagerly awaited the wedding coordinator’s instructions. As we stepped into the ballroom, whispers of anticipation filled the air. Despite a minor hiccup with the DJ playing the wrong cut version of the song – the entire 4-minute track instead of my carefully crafted 2-minute piece – the girls delivered a breathtaking performance.
The guests were left mesmerized, and the joy radiating from the couple’s faces made it all worthwhile. It was truly an unforgettable opportunity, and I would jump at the chance to be part of something like this again!
