How I know the couple: I went to high school with Sarah and Sarah and Wheeler are both Aggies!!
We returned to the beautiful Bethel Rock venue for this memorable wedding. Despite the chilly and rainy weather, the bride’s spirit remained undeterred. My colleague, Lauren, and I arrived early and began working through our checklist. With the unexpected rain, we quickly adapted our plans, knowing that we would need to transform the space after the ceremony. So, we meticulously set up for a smooth transition later on.
As the wedding party got ready, we orchestrated a heartfelt first look with the father of the bride, the bridesmaids, and finally, the groom. Welcoming guests into the venue became a bit chaotic due to the rain, but Lauren and I swiftly sprang into action, guiding guests to their seats along the aisle and ensuring they left their umbrellas at the door.
Once the processional began, I managed the ceremony with grace. Although there was a humorous yet slightly embarrassing moment when the food truck, providing dinner, drove right behind the ceremony as scripture was being read. While I couldn’t prevent it, the unexpected interruption lightened the atmosphere and even added a bit of amusement.
After the heartfelt ceremony concluded, the couple headed to the back of the property for some enchanting umbrella pictures in the rain, while my team and I worked diligently to reset the space. We efficiently opened the bar, prepared the seating chart, and directed guests to their tables. Appetizers were served, and the grand entrance commenced, as the couple aimed to create an epic dance party for their special day.
As the festivities continued, I assisted the bride in changing into her second outfit, and she made a truly epic second entrance. The energy on the dance floor soared, and eventually, she even crowd surfed several times, making it an unforgettable moment.
When the time for the exit came, we pulled the bride’s car around and distributed retractable streamers to add to the celebration. Once they departed, I ensured that all vendors received their well-deserved tips, and with Lauren by my side, we completed our responsibilities for the day.
Regarding Bethel Rock, it is a stunning venue, but I must note that the presence of a “staff member” during the ceremony and reception can be intrusive. During this wedding, I encountered a situation where this staff member interfered with the “unplugged ceremony” and obstructed the photographer’s shots. If you choose this venue and want an uninterrupted experience, I recommend clarifying this issue in your contract to avoid any disruptions on your special day.
